ABOUT

EDIDesK is an open-access platform designed to support design learners, educators, and researchers in exploring how equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) can transform design education and practice. It offers a space to engage with knowledge, tools, and resources that foster more inclusive, reflective, and socially responsible approaches to design.
 

The platform is part of the Erasmus+ EDIDesK project, “Open Access Contents on Design for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion for Higher Education Programmes”, which aims to strengthen the teaching of Design for EDI within the European Higher Education system by promoting the integration of inclusive digital tools and the development of open, multilingual educational content to support more equitable learning environments across Europe. 


Through EDIDesK, other peers are invited to join a growing community committed to transforming how we learn, teach, and make through design.

CREDITS

Emilio Rossi

Asssociate Professor in Design at the Department of Architecture, “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara. His research, teaching and professional activity focus on product design, design education, internationalisation and design-led innovation. He coordinates the EDIDesK project and works on projects and initiatives that connect design research, higher education, inclusion and social responsibility.

Role: Platform coordinator

Responsible for managing the entire EDIDesK digital learning platform as well as ensuring the highest quality and appropriateness of uploaded content in relation to strategic vision and opportunities for new content development.

Alessia Brischetto

Associate Professor of Industrial Design at the University of Florence and Scientific Coordinator of the LED – Ergonomics and Design Lab. Her research and teaching focus on product design, UX/UI design, Human-Centred Design, ergonomics, Human Factors, accessibility, and inclusive design. She is particularly interested in design education and in the role of digital and educational technologies in creating more accessible and equitable learning experiences.

Role: 

Zuzana Čerešňová

University Professor and Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Slovak University of Technology. She is a member of the Centre of Design for All (CEDA) and EIDD Design for All. Her research and teaching focus on designing inclusive built environments and she is responsible for the Universal Design course. She completed a research stay at the Institute for Human Centered Design in Boston within the Fulbright Program. She is a national expert in Accessible EU.

Marta Więckowska

Designer, researcher and academic teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice, where she leads the Interaction Design Studio and teaches UX Research. Her work focuses on interaction design, visual communication, wayfinding, usability, inclusive design and design education, with particular interest in design processes based on research, participation and EDI values.

Massimo Menichinelli

Associate Professor at Elisava School of Design and Engineering UVic-UCC and Director of Elisava Research. His research focuses on the role of design in developing ecosystems and infrastructures that support collaborative, distributed and open processes. He is particularly interested in co-design, co-design process visualisation, design impact assessment, social and digital innovation initiatives and collaborative platforms between academia and industry.

Patrycja Rudnicka

Assistant Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice. She holds a PhD in Psychology and works as a researcher and service designer bridging academia and business. Her research focuses on the determinants of technology readiness, user experience (UX), wayfinding, and AI ethics. Her broader interests include the psychology of design, human-technology interaction, well-being and inclusion, e-learning design, and applied AI ethics.

Julia C. Parodi

PhD candidate at Elisava School of Design and Engineering UVic-UCC. She holds a double BA in Design and Design Engineering from Elisava, as well as an MA in Gender Studies and Politics from UNTREF in Buenos Aires. Her research explores the intersection of design, gender, sustainability, and politics.  She is the co-founder of the gender and design collective Oblicuas and also leads the Inclusion Elisava Research Functional Unit.

Rossana Gaddi
Ainoa Abella

Assistant Professor at ELISAVA School of Design and Engineering, UVic-UCC. She coordinates the Well-being & Care through Design research line within the Research through Design group. Her teaching and research focus on evidence-based design, design engineering and well-being, with particular attention to emotional design, user experience and perception, inclusive design, and gender perspectives in healthcare.

Sarah Jane Cipressi

Architect, designer and researcher. She holds a PhD in Design from the National PhD Programme in Design for Made in Italy at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. Her research focuses on the design of inclusive and sustainable urban mobility services, with particular attention to inland waterway transport and multimodal journeys. Her work draws on Service Design and Systemic Design, with a specific interest in co-design processes and in the development of tools for service analysis and design.
